Curious

about people.

I explore how psychology, human behaviour and technology shape the way we think, learn and make decisions.

This is my public notebook where I share research notes, books, ideas and
reflections as I build my new professional path in Aotearoa New Zealand.

My paramedic experience gave me an early understanding of the responsibility involved in working with people during vulnerable moments. It also taught me that technical knowledge alone is not enough. Careful listening, clear communication and an awareness of your own limitations can matter just as much. I learned that life can be short, and that we need to follow our interests, find where we belong and use our strengths in ways that are meaningful to the community.

Later, my work in UX research, behavioural analysis and coaching deepened my interest in decision-making and mental wellbeing, but I also realised that I could not support people in the way I wanted to without a clinical background.

Today, I am particularly interested in mental health, clinical psychology and the effects of artificial intelligence and digital technology on human behaviour. I want to understand these areas through formal university study and research while staying connected to the complexity of real people and real lives. That is the direction I am gradually building towards: thoughtful, ethical and evidence-based work that can genuinely support others.

Currently Reading

I’m currently reading Psychopathology (9th edition). It is helping me build a clearer understanding of psychological disorders, assessment and treatment, while also reminding me how complex people’s experience can be. As English is my second language, I also use it to learn clinical vocabulary.

This book made me reflect on how vulnerability shapes courage and the way we relate to others. As she writes, vulnerability sounds like truth and feels like courage. I can relate to this because changing careers, starting again in a new country all required me to accept uncertainty and be honest about my vulnerability.

About Me

My background spans emergency healthcare, UX research, behavioural analysis and coaching for IT professionals. Across these roles, I became increasingly interested in how people think, make decisions, adapt to change and understand themselves. That curiosity gradually led me towards psychology. I am now studying psychology at university in Aotearoa New Zealand, building a new professional path towards advanced postgraduate training and future practice in the field.

This website is my public notebook, where I share research notes, books, ideas and reflections on the questions that interest me most, particularly those at the intersection of psychology, human behaviour, technology and mental wellbeing.

If you would like to discuss an idea, share a relevant resource or connect around psychology, technology and human behaviour, you are welcome to get in touch. I’m always happy to hear thoughtful perspectives, questions and ideas.
